Welcome

This platform runs BYU Marriott's Strategic Management mentorship program — keeping every mentor–mentee relationship active and accountable. This guide covers how the program is set up, the core concepts, and the day-to-day workflows for both program admins and mentors.

New here? If you already have an approved account, head to the sign-in page. If not, choose Create Account there and a program admin will approve you.

Quick start

  1. Admins: add your mentors and mentees, then assign each student a peer mentor and an industry mentor.
  2. Mentors: log your first meeting and confirm each mentee's current stage.
  3. Watch the dashboard — the program flags any pairing that goes quiet so you can follow up.

Key concepts

Roles

The platform uses role-based access. admins manage the program, roster, and settings; mentors log meetings and track their assigned mentees. An admin can also be a mentor.

The dual-mentor model

Each mentee has two mentors: a student mentor (a current BYU Marriott peer, expected to meet 2× per month) and a professional mentor (an alumni / industry mentor, expected to meet 1× per month). Both meetings and progress are tracked against the mentee so history stays in one place.

Building the roster Admins

From the People area you add mentors and mentees, edit their profiles, and assign pairings. Mentees are tracked by program stage, which determines the expected meeting cadence. Student names are protected — see Privacy & FERPA for how consent is recorded at the time a mentee is added.

Approving mentors Admins

When someone requests access from the sign-in page, they land in a pending queue. Approve them with one click and they're added to the mentor list and able to sign in. Admin-track requests are reviewed the same way before being promoted.

Meeting cadence & inactivity flags Admins

The program expects a different cadence depending on a mentee's stage. When a pairing hasn't met within its expected window — or a mentor falls behind the monthly target — the dashboard flags it and optional nudge emails go out, so you can follow up before the relationship goes cold.

Tip: the dashboard surfaces flagged and at-risk mentees first, so your attention goes where it's needed most.

Dashboard & AI insights Admins

The admin dashboard shows program-wide health at a glance — active pairings, meeting volume, placement funnel, and flagged relationships. AI insights summarize trends and call out what needs attention, and the notifications bell aggregates struggling mentees, overdue check-ins, approvals, and wins. All AI analysis is run on anonymized data — real student names are never sent off-platform.

Logging a meeting Mentors

Open a mentee and log your session. Meeting notes are required — they keep context with the relationship instead of in your head, and they let the program track each mentee's trajectory over time. After logging, the platform generates a short progression assessment: what was accomplished, current momentum, and the most important next step before your next meeting.

Stages & status Mentors

Every mentee moves through three job stages — applyinginterviewingplaced — and carries a status of progressing, stagnating, or needs attention. Status is inferred from recent meetings and notes so program leads can see at a glance who's on track and who needs a hand.

Requesting access

Don't have an account yet? On the sign-in page choose Create Account, enter your details and mentor type, and submit. A program admin will approve your request before you can sign in — usually within a day.

Privacy & FERPA

Student education records are protected under FERPA. The platform records consent when a mentee is added, keeps an audit trail of who accessed what, and anonymizes student identities before any AI analysis. Admins can export a complete record for any mentee on request. Single sign-on with your BYU NetID is available on the University plan.
